The
Sunday Morning Education Hour is at 9:30 am during the school
year. All are
welcome.
Childcare is provided. Age-appropriate classes are for everyone
from 3 year olds through adults. Our children have an opportunity
to lead worship three times a year. They present an Easter
program and fill all the roles in our yearly Drive-Through
Living Nativity.
Friends
in Faith is a special needs ministry meeting on Tuesday
evenings from 7-8 pm. Adults with intellectual challenges
are invited to come for singing, Bible study and crafts
in a supportive, Christ-
centered
environment.
Each
summer we host a one-week Vacation Bible School for members
and friends.
Women
of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (W/ELCA)
has three separate groups that meet once a month on the
3rd Wednesday at
10
am, 1:15 pm & 6:30 pm. These groups engage in Bible
study, fellowship and service.
Men's
Breakfast Fellowship meets from 8 to 9:30 am on the 2nd
& 4th Saturdays of each month from September to May.
They bring along their own breakfast and do Bible studies
on a variety of topics.
Thornton
Place Bible Study meets at 10 am on the second and fourth
Thursdays of the month at Thornton Place Retirement Community
near 29th & Wanamaker Road.
Non-residents
of Thornton Place are welcome to attend.
Discovery
Class for those interested in exploring church
membership meets for a seven-week session three times a
year. These classes are held on Sunday evenings from 6:30
to 8:30, and childcare is provided.
First
Lutheran Church's Library contains 2,000 items, including
not only books, but also periodicals, videotapes and CDs.
Included in the collection are Christian education resources,
books and videos for small children, and books to help people
who are experiencing loss and grief. Biblical and theological
reference materials and Christian fiction also have a place
in First's library. The library is open whenever the building
is open. Members of the community are welcome to check out
resources from our library. Stop in during office hours
